Belonging...
On friday I was driving my car coming back home at 3 PM from a really cool morning of work ... it was raining, on the radio, there were playing Chris Cornell's Sunshower in a "Heart of Seattle" special. The falling leaves, the rain, the music, the hole situation, couldn't be more perfect. I felt like a belonged... to who? to what? why do I long that feeling so much?... I realized that I felt I belonged to my life, I actually had the kind of life I've been trying to accomplish.
Last night I went to my friend's album launch, it was her first CD and I was so proud of her... we used to play together long time ago. I attended the event with my singing teacher, who also was hers... It was so cool to share that moment with Flavia and Jorge, I felt like a had a family, not by blood but by friendship, by community... a cooperation fellowship.
I'm going to Buenos Aires this june to present my work about genre in modernity and I said on that work that nothing prevails but the comercial link... what a fckn' lie. maybe in some level... maybe is true, maybe the only kind of contracts we know are the "selfish" ones, and most of the time we feel prisioners from the things we own and the ones we desire, and that's the way it is... but there is some way of being really a revolutionaire, and is through living in community. When you belong to a community you give without thinking on the outcomes that will come for you but in the prevailing of the community itself... If you "just" give, you know you will receive something back eventually. And it is a wonderful life style living by giving and receiving from life itself... We don't actually need what we own... what is the point on accumulating eternally? things will never return an smile to you, or listen at you when you are feeling sad or sick, but your friends will be there, and the most important: You will be there for them, and that's the main scope, giving, knowing you will receive something back, but from life, not necesary from them. Community is the atomic bomb for capitalism: Capitalism equals accumulate; Community is Giving.
Thanks to all the ones I love for what I've learnt and received from you: Ale, Judith, Flavia, Jorge, Daniela and everyone else even there in the "Far South Africa", every one who has given me love and the ones who have left me alone when I needed you, because you teached me to love you without expecting that love in return.
Let's give.
